Maybe the spring. The belts are not frayed or torn. There are two sets and both in good used condition. The buckles work as designed and are not pitted or rusted.

These original equipment fomoco seat belts were removed from the front of '64 Ford Galaxie 500 two door hardtop but I think they are correct for all and '63 full size cars. The date on end of belts is 7-63 as you can see in picture, and there also a fomoco script. The belt detractor on one of them is broken and does not work.
